Hawaiʻi’s First Ikebana Hair Fashion Show With Top Hair Salons

Updated: Apr 10

A New Era for Hair, Beauty & Creative Expression

There are moments when an industry shifts—quietly at first, then all at once.

The Hawaii Hair & Fashion Show 2026, produced by The Agency Collective in collaboration with Ergo-Nami, was one of those moments.

Set within the Wedding, Beauty & Lifestyle Expo, this wasn’t just a runway show. It was a reintroduction of what Hawaiʻi’s beauty industry is capable of—bringing together top hair salons in Hawaii, leading hairstylists, bridal beauty experts, and influential beauty queens into one unified, elevated experience.

As reflected in our event feature , the intention was never just to showcase talent—but to create a space where artistry, education, and purpose could exist together.

A Stage Designed for Hawai'i’s Top Hair Salons & Artists

For many stylists, the salon chair is where mastery is built—but rarely where artistry is fully seen.

This show was created to change that.

Across the runway, some of Hawaiʻi’s most talented salon teams stepped into a different role—not just as service providers, but as creative directors, designers, and innovators. The kind of work typically reserved for editorial shoots and high-fashion campaigns was brought to life right here in Hawaiʻi.

The result was a powerful reminder: the level of talent within Hawaii’s hair salons is world-class—when given the space to be seen.

Where Hair Became Art: The Ikebana Influence

At the heart of this year’s show was a concept that felt both deeply cultural and entirely new—Ikebana Hair Art.

Inspired by Ergo-Nami founder Ronald Wada’s Japanese roots, the introduction of Ikebana transformed the way hair was approached on stage. Not as styling, but as composition.

Balance. Negative space. Structure. Intention.

Each look carried a sense of quiet discipline—where florals and hair moved together, not competing, but complementing. It was subtle in theory, yet striking in execution.

And in that moment, something shifted.

This wasn’t just a creative addition—it became a defining identity of the show, positioning it as Hawaiʻi’s first Ikebana hair fashion experience.

More Than Beauty — Education That Supports Longevity

Behind the visual impact was something even more important: education.

Through Ergo-Nami, the foundation of this showcase was rooted in something every stylist understands—but few are taught early enough—the importance of protecting your body while building your craft.

In an industry where burnout, injury, and strain are common, Ergo-Nami offers a different path. One focused on:

  • how a stylist stands

  • how they hold their tools

  • how they move through each cut with intention

It’s the kind of training that doesn’t just improve technique—it extends careers.

For hairstylists, salon owners, and even students searching for hair classes, advanced cutting techniques, or ways to grow in the industry, this philosophy is what sets the next generation apart.

Featured Salons: Hawai'i’s Talent, Refined

Each salon brought its own identity to the runway—distinct, recognizable, and deeply rooted in the services they’re known for.

that feels natural but intentional.

Known for their signature blowouts, smoothing treatments, and photo-ready styling, their work translates seamlessly from everyday wear to weddings and events. There’s a quiet confidence in their approach—hair that moves, shines, and holds its shape without ever feeling overdone .

On the runway, that same philosophy came through in a more sculptural form, proving that even the most wearable styles can evolve into something editorial.

Color Box by Bombshell Studio

Bold, expressive, and unapologetically creative—Color Box by Bombshell Studio brought a different kind of energy.

Known across Kapolei for transformative color, balayage, and editorial styling, their work is designed to stand out . Whether it’s dimensional highlights or high-impact color, their team approaches hair as a full visual experience.

On stage, that translated into structure, intensity, and movement—where color wasn’t just an enhancement, but the centerpiece of the design.

Capelli Salon

From the North Shore, Capelli Salon brought a balance of technique and individuality that felt both modern and deeply personal.

Specializing in blonding, customized color, and bridal styling, their work is rooted in creating looks that grow beautifully over time . There’s a softness to their finish—but always with intention behind it.

Their runway interpretation leaned into shape and flow—showing how everyday expertise can expand into something expressive without losing its foundation.

Beauty Queens as More Than a Title

The presence of Hawaiʻi’s beauty queens added something that went beyond visual impact.

They brought meaning.

Each woman stepped onto the runway not only representing beauty, but advocacy, leadership, and community. Their partnerships with the salon teams created a deeper narrative—where each look carried purpose behind it.

Emily Smith, a multi-titleholder and founder of Elevated Pageant Coaching, represents a new generation of women redefining confidence and presence both on and off the stage .

Kelsie-Ann brought a grounded sense of service and cultural connection, reflecting what it means to lead with heart.

Victoria Hope Corpuz, an educator and advocate, continues to use her platform to highlight the importance of mental health and early childhood development—proving that influence can extend far beyond the spotlight .

Together, they transformed the runway into something more than a show—it became a platform.

A Defining Moment for Hawai'i’s Beauty Industry

What happened on that stage wasn’t just a collaboration—it was alignment.

Stylists, salons, educators, and beauty queens all stepped into a shared vision. One where creativity wasn’t competitive—it was collective.

As noted in the original showcase summary , this experience became a reflection of what’s possible when the industry chooses to grow together.

And that’s what made it powerful.

A Platform with Purpose

What unfolded on that stage was more than a showcase of talent—it was a reflection of where Hawaiʻi’s beauty industry is headed.

A space where top hair salons in Hawaii stepped beyond the chair and into artistry. Where education, through Ergo-Nami, introduced a new way of thinking—one that protects the longevity of hairstylists while elevating their craft. Where beauty queens carried not just presence, but purpose. And where hair and makeup became a refined extension of confidence, led by artists who understand both stage and real-life beauty.

This is what happens when the right people are brought together with intention.

Through the Hawaii Hair & Fashion Show, The Agency Collective created more than a runway—we created a platform. One designed to give visibility to Hawaiʻi’s talent, while connecting artistry with education, and beauty with meaning.

Continue the Experience

For those inspired by what was seen on stage, this is only the beginning.

Hairstylists and salon owners looking to refine their technique and build a sustainable career can explore Ergo-Nami workshops and certifications, designed to improve precision, efficiency, and long-term health behind the chair.

For weddings, pageants, and special events, working with an artist like Moana Cheryll of Intricate Beauty Bridal brings a level of refinement that translates seamlessly from real life to camera—ensuring every look feels both elevated and authentic.

And for brands, creatives, and professionals looking to create something meaningful, The Agency Collective continues to design experiences that connect industries, elevate talent, and bring visions to life.

Because when the right platform exists, talent doesn’t just stay local—it becomes recognized, respected, and remembered.
